Farmer’s Market

mila: This is easily one of my favorite parts of the week. It’s both the end and the beginning of the week for me (I go on Sundays) or at least that’s what it feels like. It’s a de-stressor and pretty refreshing to be outside on the streets, roaming amongst your community. I like that sense of community. It reminds me of India, where everyday people go out to the street bazaars and search for their daily rations. The Farmer’s Market is very similar in the sense that you are with your neighbors and friends and buying food from people you can get to know and trust in over time. I’ve gone on and off for almost a year now and pretty consistently for a few months and already I know a good amount of vendors, some by name, some just by face. It’s pretty cool and just an overall good experience. You feel good knowing where you are buying your food from, which has traveled less than a day (read: local) and is totally fresh and sometimes organic.
